Call To Worship:
Romans 8:1-4
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Songs:
Wonderful Merciful Savior
Verse 1
Wonderful merciful Savior
Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would have thought that a Lamb
Could rescue the souls of men
Oh You rescue the souls of men
Chorus 1
You are the One that we praise
You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh our hearts always hunger for
Verse 2
Counselor Comforter Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts
Have hopelessly lost the way
Oh we hopelessly lost the way
Verse 3
Almighty infinite Father
Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne
Oh we're falling before Your throne
Resurrecting
The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now
The Savior knelt to wash our feet
Now at his feet we bow
The one who wore our sin and shame
Now robed in majesty
The radiance of perfect love
Now shines for all to see
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our king
The fear that held us now gives way
To him who is our peace
His final breath upon the cross
Is now alive in me
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our king
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our king
By your spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected king
Is resurrecting me
In your name I come alive
To declare your victory
The resurrected king
Is resurrecting me
The tomb where soldiers watched in vain
Was borrowed for three days
His body there would not remain
Our God has robbed the grave
Our God has robbed the grave
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our king
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our king
By your spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected king
Is resurrecting me
In your name I come alive
To declare your victory
The resurrected king
Is resurrecting me

“Imager”- Someone that produces an image.
when we use the idea of humans being “imagers” of God, we are meaning that humans produce the very image of God to creation.
Exodus 33:15
“If your presence will not go, do not bring us up from here. 16 For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people, unless you go with us? In this way, we shall be distinct, I and your people, from every people on the face of the earth.”
1 Kings 8:11
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.
Romans 7:15ff
“I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate…..for the desire to do good lies close at hand but not the ability. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.”
Romans 8:11
“You are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit since the spirit of God dwells in you. If the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the Dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his spirit that dwells in you.”
Communion:
Head up to the front to take communion.
Once you take communion head back to your seat and reflect and pray over the following questions:
How have you seen, felt or experienced the presence of the Spirit?
How might we begin to notice the Spirit’s presence all around us this year?
Benediction:
Move among us, Spirit,
and gather us together with you.
Take our many selves—
our lives, our loves, our ideas,
our questions, our speech, our silence—
and unite us as your people.
Give us the gifts of presence, transformation and guidance,
so that even as we dream your dreams and see your visions,
we may be able to witness to your presence
in our common life.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.—(2 Corinthians 13:14)
Amen.
