  • Missio Babies

    Grandma Gena and one additional volunteer teach our youngest members some foundational Bible stories and characteristics of God. They use repetition, song, and interactive play to learn that the Bible is important, church is fun, and they are valued members of our faith community.

    Ages 2 and under

    Babies younger than one are welcome to go to Babies' class with an attending parent. Babies (and toddlers!) over the age of one are able to be dropped off without a parent remaining in class.

    Snack: The babies/toddlers enjoy a little "tea party" at the end of each class with water and cheerios. Please let Gena know if your child can't have these for any reason.

    Bathroom notes:

    The teachers/volunteers will not change diapers in class, so please be sure to drop off your child with a clean diaper. If a diaper change is needed, the classroom volunteer will connect with the parent.

    For potty training children, please take your child to the restroom before you drop them off at class. If they need to go during the class, the classroom volunteer will take them to the restroom. If the child has an accident, the classroom volunteer will reach out to the parents.

  • Missio Kids

    Two volunteers teach the kids the story of the Bible following a two-year rotation. Year one takes them through the Old Testament, and year two introduces them to Jesus through stories of the New Testament. Each class includes memory work, singing, a story, and a craft or activity.

    Ages 3-6

    The transition out of kids class into the main room usually happens in October of their first grade year rather than right at their sixth birthday. We celebrate their graduation with a fun ceremony where the church can pray over them and gift them with a Bible.

    Snack: There are no snacks in the kids class

  • Missio Youth

    The Missio Youth Group is a newly formed group with the goal of developing friendship, discipleship, and spiritual growth.

    Ages: 9-18

    The Youth Group are full participants in Sunday Worship with the rest of the adults.

    We have 2 Primary Monthly Events:

    -2nd Wednesdays, 5:30-7pm: Missio Youth Devo Night. This is an evening centered around Welcome (With Pizza!), Worship, Word, and Witness.

    -4th Wednesday, 6-8pm: Bingo Nights at Northaven Senior Living. Every 4th Wednesday the Missio Youth Group runs a Bingo night for the residents of Northaven.

What if my kids are older than 6? What is offered for them during the teaching time?

For kids who remain in the main room for the time of teaching, there are clipboards provided with activity sheets each week.

We also encourage kids to find certain aspects of the teaching that seem interesting and follow along as best they can.

What do you do on a 5th Sunday?

5th Sundays function a bit different from regular Sundays. We tend to do something out of the ordinary like worship gathering with all ages present the entire time. We may have a Park Day instead of worshiping in our usual place. We may have a Friendsgiving Meal instead of worship. These special Sundays will be announced well in advance for everyone to prepare and anticipate.
