Cold Weather Clothing Drive:

This Sunday begins our annual "Cold Weather Clothing Drive" for our friends living on the streets. The winter months can be harsh and unforgiving. As a church we try to help bring goodness and a bit of warmth by collecting warm clothes to give to our homeless friends.

From Nov. 28th-Dec. 19th, we will be collecting adult and Children's sized jackets, gloves, scarves, new socks, hats, and more to distribute to Mary's Place, Northgate Elementary and a couple other places in need. Our goal is to partner with our neighborhoods to collect as much as possible.

Drop off at the King's house or schedule a pick up of any collected Warm clothes from your community. Let's work hard to bring a little bit of warmth during this winter season.

Call To Worship/Candle Lighting:

Jeremiah 33: 14-16

14 “‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah.

15 “‘In those days and at that time
    I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line;
    he will do what is just and right in the land.
16 In those days Judah will be saved
    and Jerusalem will live in safety.
This is the name by which it will be called:
    The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’

Psalm 25:1-10

In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.

I trust in you;
    do not let me be put to shame,
    nor let my enemies triumph over me.
No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous without cause.

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are God my Savior,
    and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
    for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
    and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
    for you, Lord, are good.

Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
    and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
    toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

Teaching: Hope

Isaiah 9:2-7

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as they are glad when they divide the spoil. For the yoke of his burden, and the staff for his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian. For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.”

Benediction:

May you follow in the footsteps of Jesus,

May you be the hands of him who touched the sick,

The feet of him who walked among the lowly,

The arms of him who embraced the despised,

And the mouth of him who proclaimed liberty for all.

The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

the Lord lift up his face upon you and give you peace.

—Numbers 6:24–26
