Call To Worship:
Luke 22:39-44
“Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”
Songs:
Amazing Grace
Verse 1
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
Verse 2
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Verse 3
The Lord has promised good to me
His Word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
Verse 4
Through many dangers toils and snares
I have already come
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
Verse 5
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun
As The Deer
Verse 1
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
Chorus 1
You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
Verse 2
You're my friend and You are my brother
Even though You are a King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything
Verse 3
I want You more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joygiver
And the apple of my eye
Be Thou My Vision
Verse 1
Be Thou my Vision O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me save that Thou art
Thou my best thought by day or by night
Waking or sleeping Thy presence my light
Verse 2
Be Thou my Wisdom and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me Lord
Thou my great Father I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling and I with Thee one
Verse 3
High King of heaven my victory won
May I reach heaven's joys bright heaven's Sun
Heart of my own heart whatever befall
Still be my Vision O Ruler of all
Teaching: What if Jesus was Serious Abt Prayer: Prayer Changes How We See…
Philippians 2:5-11
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage. Rather, he made himself nothing, taking on the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself, by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Mark 10:46-52,
“they came to Jericho, as he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, Jesus, son of david, have mercy on me! Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, Take heart, get up, he is calling you. So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to JEsus. Then Jesus said to him, “what do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.”
Communion:
During the song reflect on your journey with Jesus…What are things within your journey with Jesus that he has helped you see with greater clarity?
After the song we will go and take communion and spend about 5-7 minutes and if you would like you can share the things you reflected on with the people around you.
Benediction:
May the beauty of God be reflected in your eyes,
the love of God be reflected in your hands,
the wisdom of God be reflected in your words,
and the knowledge of God flow from your heart,
that all might see, and seeing, find peace in Jesus.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. ”
(Numbers 6:24-26)
Amen
